  • 50 gms Organic Moisturising Base Cream
  • 10 – 15 gms Zinc Oxide Powder (not micronised) – may need a little more depending on users skin tone
  • 15 Drops Red Raspberry Seed Oil
  • 10 Drops Carrot Seed Oil
  • 10 Drops Aloe Vera Oil
  • 6 Drops Coconut Oil
  • 6 Drops Sesame Seed Oil
  • 3 Drops Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil
  • 3 Drops Lemongrass Pure Essential Oil (or Lavender if preferred)
  • 3 Drops Citricidal C (preservative)

FirstlyTake a small amount of the moisturising base cream and add the Zinc Oxide Powder, blending until there are no lumps – or mix the Zinc Oxide with some of the oils till well blended and add back into the moisturising base cream. Add all of the other oils and combine thoroughly. Test on the hand to check that the cream shows some reflective properties. Add more Zinc Oxide if necessary.

Note: Zinc Oxide is a light reflector, anti-fungal, antiseptic, great for acne and problem skin and in the heavier old fashioned form (non-micronised) is absolutely safe and is not a nano particle.

Red Raspberry Seed Oil: Has a natural SPF of between 28 – 50 depending on its quality and is healing to irritated skins.

Carrot Seed Oil: Has a SPF of between 35 – 40 also dependent on quality and harvest time.

Aloe Vera Oil: Is soothing, healing, silky and an excellent anti-burn plant.

Coconut Oil: Also an excellent sun protectant with an SPF of between 10 – 14. Skin Softening, silky and lovely on the skin and is especially good for dry itchy skin.

Sesame Seed Oil: Very little goes a long way because of the intense colour of this beautiful oil. Very high in vitamin C, E, folic acids and flavonoids plus essential fatty acids and a high level of the rare omega 7. It is difficult to give a rating for this awesome oil because of the small amount used in recipes.

Both Lemongrass and Lavender Pure Essential Oils have SPF content but again difficult to list because of the tiny amount used.dog relaxing on a fancy red hammock with sunglasses

Please remember the sun is not your enemy! – Sensible sunbathing contributes to immune system health and vitamin D absorption and is best achieved on a regular basis for short periods at a time. Using a natural (non nano-particle) sunscreen every 3 – 4 hours whilst outside will greatly enhance your health and that of your family.
